Matthew Bryant

Matthew B. Bryant has been licensed to practice in Ohio since 2010 after graduating from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2009. During law school, Matthew worked as a law clerk for a firm in downtown Toledo, Ohio, where he assisted with various litigation matters. In addition to his legal studies, he completed a master’s degree in political science and public administration in 2012, also at his alma mater, the University of Toledo.

 

Matthew began his career in private practice and worked as an associate at several Ohio law firms in Columbus and Toledo, including Barr, Jones & Associates, LLP; Dixon & Hayes, Ltd.; and Mockensturm Limited, honing his skills in several practice areas, particularly bankruptcy law and wrongful termination. He founded Bryant Legal, LLC in 2015, where he continues to advise clients statewide.

 

In keeping with this experience, Matthew has continued to work as private counsel for individuals and companies in various matters, including employment discrimination, wrongful termination, violations of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, consumer law, and business related matters. Matthew was recently recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2021 in the area of employment law.

 

Matthew is also highly recognized with his work in the area of creditor-debtor law, where he handles Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases on behalf of individuals and small businesses. For his bankruptcy practice, Mr. Bryant was named as a Rising Star in Ohio by Super Lawyers Magazine for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2021.

 

In addition to his legal practice, Matthew is active within the legal community as former chair of the Young Lawyers Committee for the Toledo Bar Association, secretary for the CLE Committee for the Toledo Bar Association, and member with the Membership Committee for the Toledo Bar Association.

 

Matthew serves on the Board of Beach House, Inc. in Toledo, Ohio, where he serves as Chair of the Human Resources Committee and is on the Executive Committee for the organization, which works to end homelessness in the Northwest Ohio area.
